David Leon is an independent writer and translator currently based in Oxford.

After completing an MPhil in International Relations at the University of Oxford, he worked in various policy and research roles, before striking out as an author.

He holds a Ph D and MPhil in Creative Writing from the University of Queensland, Australia, where he has also taught.

His work has appeared in journals and anthologies, and has been shortlisted for awards including the White Review Short Story Award and the Australian/Vogel Literary Awards.

Feedback on work submitted is given during tutorials within the residence or retreat.

In the second year, submissions comprise one research placement report, one extended critical essay, and a final project – a substantial body of creative work in the genre of choice.

There is a strong element of one-to-one tutorial teaching.

Tutorials take place within residences and retreats, and relate to the on-going work produced for the course.
